Guests staying in Vinings might enjoy grabbing coffee and a pastry (and a fun read) at Read Shop, delicious chicken salad sandwiches at Café at Pharr, tacos and margs at bartaco, or pizza at always-delicious Mellow Mushroom.For a nicer dinner out SOHO is always a hit, Canoe offers an excellent menu and garden dining right on the Chattahoochee, and Orient Express is a hibachi/sushi/Chinese spot housed inside an old train car.Anyone with a sweet tooth can wrap up the night with ice cream at Cold Stone--Hart will remind you that ice cream is always a good idea. 

Around the Lindgren's neighborhood check out OK Cafe for a fantastic diner breakfast, lunch, dinner, or take-away (sadly they aren't open 24/7 anymore, but everything else about this legendary spot is just the same--be sure to see the money tree!). For breakfast & coffee Goldberg's is as close to New York bagels as you'll find anywhere (Chapman has verified this), and The Daily is a fun new spot. (Pro tip--Goldberg's is also available in the airport at Concourse T and Concourse A!). Anyone in the mood for Italian should grab panini, pinsa (Rome's version of pizza), or gelata at Pala; or visit beloved Pero's Pizza, which has been serving classic Italian-American pastas and pizzas for over 50 years. Willy's Mexicana Grill, Mary Craig's lifelong favorite, rounds out the list for the West Paces shopping center, and Little Rey down the road is a fun newer spot that has been giving Willy's a run for its money (we are #teamboth). For a nicer lunch or dinner out we recommend our go-to Houston's (the artichoke dip is a must), delicious seasonal fare at Local Three, or refined Southern classics at Blue Ridge Grill (the bar there is also a perfect spot to catch up over a cocktail). 

This section is organized north to south--starting around Chastain Park at the edge of Sandy Springs/top part of Buckhead and moving south towards Midtown. All of these options will be especially convenient for guests staying at the Tess in Buckhead or the AC/Moxy or Four Seasons in Midtown.
 
The Chastain is fantastic for a fine dinner, or stop by in the morning to visit their coffee & breakfast counter--enjoy on the patio (they might even have a fire going), in their kitchen garden, or take yours to go and walk around Chastain Park. (PSA--be prepared for a line if you are going on Saturday morning!). Nearby on Roswell Road is Buttermilk Kitchen, another great breakfast spot. Any list of breakfast or late-night options in Atlanta that leaves out Waffle House is just wrong (in Mary Craig's opinion, anyway). We like the ones on Howell Mill or Roswell Road, but it's Waffle House--any location will be delicious. For lunch in the heart of Buckhead Henri's Bakery & Deli has amazing sandwiches and is famous for their thumbprint shortbread cookies (second only to Grandaddy/John Lindgren's Christmas shortbread). In this part of town you'll also find another location of Cafe at Pharr for a quick lunch. The Atlanta History Center is a fantastic museum (just ask Kate!), but even if you don't have time for a tour Souper Jenny is great for a quick lunch. Parking is free and the food is fantastic! If you'd like to really experience a classic Atlanta lunch you can't go wrong with a reservation at the Swan Coach House. 

Grab dinner at Chido & Padre's, another great spot on Mary Craig's list of mexican restaurants, or enjoy some finer French fare at Anis or Le Bilboquet (reservations recommended). Other great spots around here include Lucian Books & Wine and Nan Thai.  Travel down Peachtree a bit to Fellini's Pizza for an affordable slice (another location on Howell Mill is easy to access from both Vinings/West Paces and Midtown). At the Peachtree Battle shopping center Jalisco's is a legendary tex-mex favorite, and Café Lapin offers a lovely lunch menu. Around the corner in Peachtree Hills Treehouse Restaurant and Pub is a great casual spot for a bite or a beer. There is another Houston's on Peachtree (two words: artichoke dip). Nearby Cafe Sunflower has an entirely plant-based menu (hi vegans!) and is fantastic. 

We're starting this section off in Midtown on/around Peachtree, traveling west to the Westside (around Howell Mill), and finally moving back up towards the Lindgren's neck of the woods. 
 
Continuing our journey down Peachtree, Bell Street Burritos from MC's list of mexican restaurants has a location at the top of Midtown. Silver Skillet is an unbeatable breakfast spot (bring cash) that Jones/Mr. Lindgren frequented in his days at Tech. Our tour of midtown by way of Peachtree concludes with two of Atlanta's ultimate classics--Mary Mac's Tea Room (try the pot likker), and the Varsity (please get an FO for dessert in honor of chi o mu beta). Moving west and starting up Northside Drive you can't go wrong with a visit to Antico Pizza Napoletana for authentic pizza and gelato. Parking can be tricky, just be patient! There are tons of lovely options at Westside Provisions. Chattahoochee Coffee Company for coffee, Little Sparrow for a delicious dinner, and Ormsby's for a drink and a game of bocce, darts, or pool with a British tavern feel. Grab lunch to-go from Savi Provisions or enjoy ice cream from Jeni's for dessert. Taqueria Del Sol is an absolute must--their margs might not be $5 anymore but they are still amazing! MC's order: either one brisket and one fried chicken taco or the chicken enchiladas with salsa verde. Hart's order: two carnita tacos and one fish taco. To share: go big and get the salsa trio, guac, and queso.

Monday Night Brewing is a spacious brewery with lots of outdoor seating and a food truck for dining options.

North on Howell Mill brings us to another Waffle House and, after crossing I-75, Fellini's for a quick and easy slice of pizza. Hart's favorite Savannah South African-inspired sandwich shop, Zunzi's, has an Atlanta outpost nearby. Finally, Flying Biscuit Cafe has some of the best biscuits you'll find in Atlanta.  

The Municipal Market in Sweet Auburn is one of our favorite spots for lunch. This is the perfect spot to refuel after a visit to the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park (link below).  In the mood for BBQ? You cannot go wrong with Fox Bros or Pig-N-Chik. In Inman Park MC loves Delbar for middle eastern cuisine. Virginia Highlands is the perfect neighborhood for a ramble, with tons of great spots to pop in. Hart's favorite Savannah coffee, PERC, has a location here, and we love Murphy's Restaurant for a nice, cozy dinner. 

Surprise, surprise! Hart has some golf recommendations for anyone not familiar with the Atlanta golf scene. Please text him if you have any questions (just maybe not on wedding day). Visit the Atlanta History Center and the Swan House. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park. The park site encompasses the King Center and Martin Luther King, Jr.'s childhood home. There is free parking!The National Center for Civil and Human Rights is one of Mary Craig's top recommendations for visitors.

You can visit the Swan Coach House for lunch or pop inside to visit the shop and the lovely Swan Coach House Gallery, a program of the Forward Arts Foundation. The High Museum of Art, one of Mary Craig's favorite places in Atlanta, is walking distance from the AC/Moxy. The current exhibitions are The Lost World: The Art of Minnie Evans and The Family Album of Ralph Eugene Meatyard.  Don't forget to wave at Jones working at Perkins&Will across the street! On second thought, he'll definitely be busy with wedding things and not in the office, but you can visit the Museum of Design Atlanta in the first floor of the Perkins&Will building for a smaller museum excursion. Another smaller and very enjoyable art museum is Hammonds House Museum, which features works by artists of African descent.

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is beautiful (tip: they offer daily one hour tours at 1:30pm guided by one of their docents, free with admission).Explore walking trails on the Chattahoochee or take a stroll around Piedmont Park!

You can't go wrong with a visit to the World of Coca-Cola (try Beverly in the tasting room!) or the Georgia Aquarium. The Peachtree Road Farmers Market has their first market of 2026 scheduled for March 7th. Enjoy strolling around, shopping, and get coffee or a fun bite for breakfast or lunch.
